The Port of Palm Beach is a working seaport on the Lake Worth Lagoon in Riviera Beach, just north of West Palm Beach and across from Singer Island. Cargo ships and the cruise ship share the harbor, but cruise passengers use their own terminal.

The port has been working on a large capital improvement project for its cruise terminal and berth, and on-site arrangements can change during construction. Always check the Port of Palm Beach website and your cruise line’s arrival instructions in the week before you sail.
How Embarkation Day Works
- Check in online with Margaritaville at Sea before you leave home and have your documents ready.
- Drive in or get dropped off. Port attendants direct cars to the cruise parking area.
- Walk to the terminal using the marked pedestrian walkway from the lot.
- Drop checked bags, clear security and check in.
- Wait in the air-conditioned terminal if needed. Boarding begins once the previous guests have disembarked and the ship has cleared U.S. Customs, so the start time varies.
- Board and enjoy. On a short cruise, the first afternoon matters — have your swimsuit in your carry-on.

What You Can and Cannot Bring
The port’s FAQ says beverages, alcohol, weapons and illegal drugs may not be brought onto the ship. Your cruise line’s own list of prohibited items is longer (for example, irons and certain electrical items are usually banned on cruise ships), so check it before you pack. Medications, documents, valuables and a change of clothes belong in your carry-on.
Lost something onboard?
The port says the cruise line’s lost and found is handled at the ticket counter in the cruise terminal. Contact Margaritaville at Sea directly through its website for anything left on the ship.
Documents
Requirements for closed-loop cruises (round trip from the same U.S. port) are set by U.S. and foreign authorities and enforced by the cruise line. A valid passport is always the simplest choice, and it is essential if you might need to fly home from a foreign port. Check Margaritaville at Sea’s required travel documents page for your sailing.
Global Entry Center at the Port
The Port of Palm Beach website lists a Global Entry Enrollment Center among its services. If you travel internationally often, it may be a convenient place to complete your interview — check the port’s site and U.S. Customs and Border Protection for current appointments.
